BRB & COVID

How many folks will be at BRB at one time?

We are truncating the retreat’s size and scope this year, as we did in 2021 - for safety, comfort, and social distancing, each retreat week will be a smaller group of people, so that we will only host one household per bunk room. We anticipate that each week will comprise 9-12 artists and 3-4 retreat staff.

How will CDC guidelines be met during the retreat?

BRB at Little Pond is uniquely suited for the current guidelines for COVID-19 safety. The sleeping area and dining area are both in an open-air converted horse stable, which allows for ventilation. With FGP’s decision to only allow one household per bunk room (rather than bunkmates/shared rooms), there is also ample room for social distancing. The property is also made up of many acres of trails and outdoor areas where artists can set up workspace, hike, and explore. The rehearsal room, kitchen, and bathrooms are all indoors, but we will keep the screened doors and windows open in all rooms to allow for air to travel through, and we will also keep fans running. Though the CDC has lifted the mask guidelines for vaccinated folks, we are prepared to follow guidelines if they change, and we will have masks available onsite for use in any of the common indoor spaces.

Will vaccination be a requirement for attendees?

For the 2022 BRB Retreat, we are requiring participants to be fully vaccinated, including a booster shot. We are making this requirement in conjunction with CDC guidelines for shared common spaces and gathering, and we will continue to shape future years of BRB as indicated by health officials.
